What does central air mean? How does it work!

What does central air mean? Temperatures that are too high or too low will affect human health and productivity; Temperature also affects the production process. The best solution, in this case, is to use central air conditioning.

What does central air mean?

Central air conditioning is a system used to control the temperature of your residence or workplace. The air conditioner is located in the center, using a compressor, fan, and duct system to bring cool air throughout the room. There are two types of central air systems split systems and packaged systems.

How does central air conditioning work?

When the room temperature is higher than the preset temperature the air cooling system will be turned on.

+ When the compressor works, it will suck gas through the liquid separator to the compressor intake and be compressed to high pressure and high temperature.

+ Next, in the condenser are usually copper or aluminum tubes where the gas cools in which the gas begins to decrease in temperature due to cooling from the environment and will begin to liquefy. The temperature depends on the cooling capacity of the condenser. The lower the air temperature, the better the air circulation, the lower the condenser temperature, and the more efficiently the system works.

+ The liquefied gas passing through the filter dryer will remove unwanted dirt or impurities due to the long operation of the compressor and the formation of deposits.

+ Next, the liquid gas will pass through the throttle cable; this throttle cable uses a small copper tube to create a pressure difference between the condenser and the evaporator. The gas that is throttled when entering the evaporator with high pressure will evaporate right at the throttle position in the evaporator and collect heat. After that the gas will switch to low pressure, low temperature. Here the heat exchange with the external environment occurs.

+ Finally, refrigerant gas through the liquid separator is sucked back to the compressor to perform the next cycle, the closed working cycle.

Classification

As shown above, there are two types of central air conditioners split system and packaged system. Both systems use a controller to control the desired temperature and use fans and ducts to send cool air throughout the room.

++ Split system

The split system includes both outdoor and indoor units.

+ Outdoor unit have fan, condenser, compressor is contained in a cabinet and placed outdoors.

+ The indoor unit have the fan, the evaporator is located indoors. Many the split system may contain a heater or heat exchanger. If your home has a fireplace already, a split system is the most economical central air conditioner to install.

++ Packaged system

A Packaged system consists of only one cabinet containing the evaporator, compressor, and condenser. This cabinet will be placed on the roof or on the concrete slab next to the foundation. The system of pipes will bring cool air into the house through the wall or from the roof into the room.

A Packaged system usually does not require the use of a separate heater. Because it usually includes electric heating coils or natural gas furnaces.

Benefits of central air

+ Your home will be a pleasant living environment, cool air and reduced humidity. Whether it’s summer or winter, the temperature in your house can be controlled as you want.

+ Clean air: The central air conditioning system will suck the air out of the room and pass it through filters to remove dust and pollutants. Then through air ducts system bring clean air into the room.

+ Quiet operation: The loudest part of the mid-range air conditioning system is the fan and the compressor. These two parts of the outdoor unit are located outside the house, so the noise of the central air system to your room is reduced.
